Cookie Policy

Effective Date: June 1, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains the small files and similar technologies we use to keep personalchefs.com working, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used.

1. About This Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how personalchefs.com ("personalchefs.com", "the Company", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and Service. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you agree to our use of cookies as described here, except for cookies that require your consent where the law requires it.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's owners. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, which stores small amounts of data in your browser. In this policy, we refer to all of these as "cookies".

Cookies may be "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them. They may be set by us ("first-party") or by a third-party service we use ("third-party").

3. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies in the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary (essential): required for the Service to function. These include authentication and session cookies set by our provider Supabase to keep you securely logged in, and cookies that support security and load balancing. The Service will not work properly without these, so they cannot be switched off through our interface.
  • Functional: remember your choices and preferences — such as dismissing a banner or onboarding step — so the Service behaves the way you expect. Some of these preferences are stored in your browser's local storage rather than as traditional cookies.
  • Analytics and performance: help us understand how the Service is used — for example, which pages are visited and where errors occur — so we can improve it. These collect information in aggregate and we use them only to operate and improve the Service.

We do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party services we use to provide the Service. These include:

  • Stripe: when you reach a payment or checkout page, Stripe may set cookies to process payments securely and to help prevent fraud.
  • Supabase: sets cookies necessary for authentication and maintaining your signed-in session.
  • Google Analytics (Google): we use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand how visitors use the site. It sets cookies and collects aggregated information such as the pages you view, basic interactions, and how you arrived at the site (for example, the referring website or search). We use this only to measure and improve the Service, and we do not use it for advertising. You can read how Google handles this data in Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy and learn about opting out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Customer support chat: if we enable our in-app support widget, the provider may set cookies to maintain your support conversation.

These third parties set cookies according to their own policies, which we encourage you to review.

5. Your Choices and How to Opt Out

Most web browsers let you control cookies through their settings — you can block or delete cookies, or set your browser to warn you before accepting them. To manage cookies, look in your browser's settings or help menu. Please note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Service — including signing in — may not work.

Many browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, we do not currently respond to them. You can still control cookies using the browser methods described above.

For more on how to manage cookies, you can visit your browser provider's help resources or independent guides such as allaboutcookies.org.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above and take reasonable steps to notify you, such as posting a notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

7. Contact Us

If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact us at privacy@personalchefs.com.
